Mission Statement

The Kurdish-American Education Society was formed in 1997 and is incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization to promote education and science as fundamental necessities to promote cultural creativity and social progress for the maintenance of Kurdish identity. The purpose of the Organization is focused on promoting and publishing research on Kurdish cultural studies, to help preserve and promote the language, culture, and history of the Kurdish people; and through this promotion to create a cultural understanding between the Kurdish and American communities. We organize cultural gatherings, conferences, workshops and research programs to facilitate cultural and academic exchanges on local, national and global levels among Kurdish and non-Kurdish scholars and students. In highlighting the Kurdish cultural heritage and contributions to the world civilization, and acknowledging fundamental human and cultural rights of the Kurdish society, we advocate tolerance and respect for cultural diversity as a global necessity to promote a just and peaceful world.
